We're just going to do this chronologically.
June 10, 2008: The sunset at O'Hare was beautiful, but it didn't hold off the lightning or the two hour delay.
The flight down to Brazil pretty much sucked and we landed two hours late. Fortunately, Wyatt was waiting for me and I didn't have to navigate Sao Paulo on my own. We then headed to Wyatt's host mom's condo.
June 11, 2008: The view of Sao Paulo from Wyatt's home for the past year.
I was pretty hungry, so we went across the street to a Japanese place where they charged by the kilo. Wyatt explained that it's a pretty common way of charging for food down there. We were late and the restaurant didn't have warmers, so our food was cold, but it didn't keep it from looking tasty, even if it was slightly lacking.
June 11, 2008: Cold, tasteless, but filling food. My first Sao Paulo meal.
Wyatt insisted I try Brazil's favorite soda. I loved it!
June 11, 2008: Salooje with Guarana! (Wyatt, correct my spelling)
On our way out to see Sao Paulo, we made one last stop in Wyatt's neighborhood. He taught a computer class to senior citizens at this Catholic Parrish down the street from his condo.
June 11, 2008: Wyatt in front of the Catholic Parrish.
My dad lived in Brazil for about 2 years when he was growing up. He LOVES Guarana and has people bring it to them when they come from Brazil.
